Shang Properties Inc. is the real estate development unit of Kuok Group, one of the world’s most diversified companies and operator of Shangri-La International Hotels and Resorts. “Shang” or “Shangri-La” is practically synonymous with incomparable luxury, and the proof is in the list of projects that carry these names. In the Philippines, there’s Shangri-La Plaza EDSA Plaza Mall in Ortigas Center, an upscale shopping complex, as well as uber-exclusive beach properties like Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa in Cebu and Shangri-La’s Boracay Resort and Spa in Aklan.

Shang Properties is also a player in the residential market, with its portfolio of premium developments in the metro. It launched its first condominium project, Shang Grand Tower in 2002. The P2 billion, 46-story development was completed on time in 2006 and has been completely sold out since then.

The robust sales of its residential projects has boosted Shang Properties’ profits in 2012, as it reported P3.7 billion in revenues. Condo sales, in particular, increased more than five-fold to P2.05 billion, primarily because of higher bookings from One Shangri-La Place and better completion rates for projects.
